Ministry of Science awarded scholarships for young researchers

Winners of scholarships for young scientists will receive more than PLN 4 thousand per month. The Ministry of Science awarded scholarships to 137 persons, reported the Ministry in a release.

"In the eighth edition of the competition for scholarships for outstanding young scientists, we received more than 500 applications. From among them, 137 winners who scored at least 90 points were selected. This year\'s winners represent the humanities, social sciences, the arts, natural sciences science, agriculture and medicine" - reads the Ministry of Science release sent PAP.

Scholarships are awarded to scientists below the age of 35, who conduct high -quality research and have impressive scientific achievements.

"With the scholarships awarded each year to outstanding young scientists, we can support the career development of the best scholars of the younger generation. This is a reward for their passion for science and crossing borders scientific. I congratulate all this year\'s winners of the prestigious scholarship" - emphasized Minister of Science and Higher Education Barbara Kudrycka.

Scholarships are awarded for a period of one to three years. Winners will receiver more than PLN four thousand per month. In 2013, the Ministry of Science will spend more than PLN 22 million on the scholarships.

Scholarships for outstanding young scientists are awarded to young researchers employed at universities, institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and research institutes. Applications are submitted by organizations employing the young researchers. The evaluation includes scientific achievements of the candidate, the level of research, awards and participation in international projects.
