Businesses implementing innovative technologies and seeking cooperation with scientists, can take advantage of the website "IPC for companies". The website was launched by the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw.

The website is available at: http://www.ichfdlafirm.pl/setlang/en

The objective of the Institute is to strengthen cooperation with industry, more effectively transfer new knowledge to the economy and improve the effectiveness of the Institute and cooperating companies in the competition for EU funds.

"Internationally, only the economies of those countries count that have focused on the development of science and technology. Gradually, also Poland entrepreneurs are starting to reach for innovative technological solutions. Companies and industries may and should draw on the achievements of Polish science. Such cooperation would not only bring economic and scientific benefits, but open the way for the parties involved to numerous EU funds aimed at promoting transfer between science and industry" - reads the release sent by the Institute.

"Looking for innovative topics? We are inviting you! You are an entrepreneur already implementing innovative technologies, but have a scientific or technological problem, which you can not solve yourself? Come to us! We have a great, interdisciplinary professionals who will help find effective solutions" - encouraged Prof. Robert Hołyst, responsible for implementations at the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS. He emphasised, however, that as a unit funded by taxpayers, the Institute offers their assistance in the form of scientific cooperation.

Entrepreneurs and researchers at the IPC PAS can identify and determine the amounts of organic compounds in complex matrices, determine the degree of water pollution, determine the properties of the surface and structure of porous materials, investigate the phase composition and changes in the structure of materials for the pharmaceutical industry, analyse small amounts of substances that occur during failures of high power electrical equipment. Specialists in cosmetic and clinical microbiology can detect and identify bacteria and pathogens. Ultrafast laser techniques developed at the Institute are suitable for use in micro-processing of surfaces and in various studies, including research on conformational changes in polymer and the structure of water in enzymatic reactions, as well as the analysis of dyes, pigments and paint binders or detection of cancer markers.

"In cooperation with entrepreneurs, we can perform competent measurements and analyses of a wide range of physical, chemical and even biological processes with practical significance for many sectors of the economy, including cosmetics and perfumery, pharmaceutical industry, bioengineering, photoelectronics or various kinds of nanotechnology. Just contact us" - encouraged Prof. Hołyst.

The current partners of the Institute include the largest corporations, such as Samsung in South Korea, the Japanese Mitsui Chemicals, or Anglo-Dutch Unilever. The Experimental Department CHEMIPAN operating at the Institute is known for its production of odoriferous substances affecting the behaviour of insect pests. At the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS also operate two high-tech companies specialising in microflow techniques, founded in 2011, almost immediately after the legislative changes enabling the institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences to participate in spin-off companies.
