The university wants to educate students in such new fields and specializations as diagnostics and repairs of marine machinery and equipment, diagnostics and repair of wind turbines, mechatronics of energy systems, marine computer science, rescue operations, geoinformatics, marine IT systems and offshore industries.

The property, which is close to 23 thousand sq. m, includes educational buildings, workshops, sports hall. It was transferred to the Maritime University more than a year ago.

In April this year, Szczecin councillors agreed on the sale of the property with discount, provided that it will be used for non-commercial educational, scientific, research and development purposes.

In recent years, the city also supported the Maritime Academy by selling the property at a reduced price. On one of them, the university will build a modern training centre for emergency and security services, maritime surveillance, crisis management and response in the field of maritime safety and public safety.
