Kroll Ontrack expands R&D centre in Katowice
Seventy IT specialists, including graduates and students of the Slask region (southern Poland) universities, will by the end of the year find jobs in the new Katowice-based Kroll Ontrack Research and Development Centre.
Kroll Ontrack is the largest data recovery and e-discovery company in the world.
The company informed about selecting Katowice as the site of its global R&D centre at a press conference on Wednesday. It will be one of the largest new technology facilities in Slask and the largest data recovery and e-discovery centre in the world.
The Polish R&D department was created in 2004 as part of Kroll Ontrack\'s Katowice branch. In May 2012 it started a recruitment process for the new centre and aims to boost its staff to 100 by year-end.
The main tasks of the newly-developed centre will include designing software for data recovery and e-discovery for global clients and testing solutions prepared by the company US headquarters.
The decision to develop the centre in the Polish branch is related both to the potential the company sees in the excellent resources offered by Slask technical universities and positive experience from the current operation of the Katowice R&D department, Poland\'s Kroll Ontrack CEO Peter Boehnet said.
