More than a dozen European bison, who feast on the freshly supplied feed, come every day to the feeder on one of the Bialowieża Forest clearings. Thanks to the camera installed near the feeder, thousands of Internet users can follow their actions for the third time. This time, a few years old female with a transmitter and a few very young bison attract attention.

Bison can be watched since December 2012 at www.lasy.gov.pl/zubr. A camera operating 24/7 has been installed in a clearing in Forestry Browsk in the Bialowieża Forest. On average, there are a few hundred visits per hour. One million unique users have watched the bison clearing.

"This year, new stars appeared in the clearing. One of the stars of the season is a few years old female with a transmitter, who wandered from a deeper part of the forest" - said the National Forests spokeswoman Anna Malinowska.

Bialowieża National Park employees who analyse signals from bison transmitters, reported that the daily distance of the female is about 3 km, and the total area on which she wanders is approx. 85 km square.

"An additional attraction are young calves, of which we have seen several this year. An adult European bison female gives birth every two or three years, so the more reason to enjoy the view" - emphasises Malinowska.

For fans of the European bison, who visit their social network page: https://www.facebook.com/ZubryOnline, a surprise has been prepared. For several weeks, bison stories in a comic version are published there. "Drawings by Tomasz Samojlik won the hearts of not only the youngest fans of the bison. And more is coming soon" - announced the National Forests spokeswoman.

According to data from 2010, 1224 bison lived in Poland, of which 191 in breeding centres and zoos. It is estimated that more than half of the free bison live in the Bialowieża Forest.
