The University of Warsaw allies with European universities

The University of Warsaw and three other European research universities signed a declaration establishing the European University Alliance "4EU", reports the Press Office of the University of Warsaw.

The declaration establishing the European University Alliance "4EU" was signed by four universities: University of Warsaw, Sorbonne University (France), Heidelberg University (Germany) and Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic).

The universities plan to strengthen cooperation in the areas of science, innovation, education and exchange of students, academic and administrative staff. The main objectives of the alliance will be specified by the rectors.

According to the University of Warsaw press release, plans include organizing joint conferences, lectures and seminars. Universities will also create a platform to publish information about joint research projects and their results. Students will have the opportunity to complete part of their studies at partner universities and use scientific materials in the libraries and archives of the allied partners. Universities also want to support academic entrepreneurship, including technology transfer centres, incubators and start-ups.

The declaration was signed by Prof. Marcin Pałys, Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Tomáš Zima, Rector of Charles University in Prague, Prof. Jean Chambaz, President of Sorbonne University and Prof. Bernhard Eitel, Rector of Heidelberg University. The document was signed on March 10 in Paris.
