Dr. Artur Obłuski from the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology of the University of Warsaw was the Public's Choice in the European Research Council's Public Engagement with Research Award competition. The competition winners were announced last week.
Professor Krystyna Radziszewska from the University of Lodz and Professor Sascha Feuchert from the University of Gießen won the Polish-German Copernicus Award 2022 for their collaboration in the field of Holocaust studies, the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) announced.
Michał Bogdziewicz from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań received the 2021 New Phytologist Tansley Medal for Excellence in Plant Science, one of the most important awards for biologists specialising in plants, the National Science Centre reports. He is the first Polish researcher awarded this distinction.
Nearly 80 candidates entered this year's 17th edition of the Popularizer of Science competition. In the first stage, the Competition Jury selected 23 finalists. In the second stage, the jury selected competition winners in five categories as well as the Grand Prize winner, and awarded two special mentions. The editors of PAP - Science in Poland also granted the special Tomasz Trzciński Award.
