Jolanta Różowska elected President of the European Children`s Universities Network EUCU.NET

Jolanta Różowska from the Foundation of Malopolski University for Children has been elected one of the three Presidents of the European Children`s Universities Network EUCU.NET. The organization has members from 33 countries on 5 continents.

The board of the European Children`s Universities Network (EUCU.NET) consists of three members, who form the three-person Presidency.

In a vote held at the General Assembly in Vienna, EUCU.NET members elected the new Presidency. The elected representatives are: Karoline Iber from the University of Vienna, Silvia Prock from the University of Innsbruck and Jolanta Różowska from the Foundation of Malopolski University for Children - Jolanta Różowska announced in a press release sent to PAP.

The previous Presidents (continuously since 2011) were Karoline Iber from the University of Vienna, Tricia Jenkins from the University of Liverpool and Michael Seifert from the University of Tübingen - the founder of the world`s first children`s university, who received the Descartes Prize for Science Communication from the European Commission for outstanding merits in popularising knowledge.

Jolanta Różowska has been the President of the Foundation of Malopolski University for Children in Trzebinia since 2008. The flagship project of the Foundation is the Malopolski University for Children, which has been organising interdisciplinary scientific classes for children aged 6-12 for 10 years. Classes are held at the Poviat Lifelong Learning Centre in Chrzanów.

EUCU.NET is a non-profit organization based in Vienna. Nearly 20% of EUCU.NET members are Polish universities for children. The primary goal of EUCU.NET is to support children`s universities` growth in Europe, lobby to support existing and emerging projects of this type, and to promote universities for children as an educational platform that increases interest in learning from an early age.
