"Chrząszcz" (Beetle) is an autonomous robot that can avoid obstacles and find its way to the destination. It was constructed by Wrocław University of Science and Technology students. At the end of April the robot will start in international competitions in Silicon Valley in the US.
A doctoral student will initially receive approx. PLN 2,000 later PLN 3,000 net. While receiving the scholarship, doctoral students will not be allowed to be employed at the university. Deputy Minister of Science Piotr Müller talks about the changes that young scientists can expect after the university reform.
I do not believe that the reform of science will be a revolution for Polish universities - says Prof. Andrzej Jajszczyk, a member of the ERC scientific council. Although the scientist supports the direction of change, he is afraid that most universities will not want to take advantage of the new opportunities.
Changes in higher education will be profound but gradually introduced, Minister of Science Jarosław Gowin said about the bill reforming Polish universities during his visit to Lodz University of Technology. Addressing students, he added that they should expect higher requirements.
