On Wednesday, President Andrzej Duda signed the Law on Higher Education and Science and its introductory provisions. This comprehensive reform of higher education will result in big changes in the functioning of universities, their financing, and scientific careers.
We are planning to issue more than 20 regulations to the Constitution for Science by the end of the year, Deputy Minister of Science Piotr Müller told PAP. Consultations on several important regulations - including those concerning the principles of evaluation and division of fields of science - are expected to start as soon as the law is signed by the president.
The Senate passed the Law on Higher Education and Science (Law 2.0) with four amendments and its introductory provisions without amendments. This means that Law 2.0 returns to the Sejm. The two laws reform higher education and introduce major changes in the functioning of universities.
Almost 50 students and lecturers from universities in Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Ukraine and Russia will participate in this year`s edition of the Summer School Łodź 2018 organized by the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz. The School`s inauguration took place last week.
