Three Polish scientists won the Starting Grant in the competition settled by the European Council Research. Polish scientists last obtained such a good result in 2010. The work of Polish scientists requires more financial and institutional support - Minister of Science said on Wednesday.
More than PLN 24 million for innovative research projects is available for young Polish and foreign doctors, who will take part in the programmes: FIRST TEAM, HOMING and POWROTY/REINTEGRATION, announced by the Foundation for Polish Science. Applications can be submitted until 17 October.
Eight NGOs received a total of 338 thousand zlotys from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for activities supporting the academic community. The awarded funds will be used, among others, to support pro-innovative attitudes, increase legal awareness of students and doctoral students.
Student of molecular biotechnology at the University of Rzeszów (UR) Jakub Kapłan will participate in the research program concerning autoimmune diseases at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation in the US. The Pole will be there for a year-long traineeship, which will begin in July.
Two Poles who will conduct research in Poland, and two - abroad received prestigious Starting Grants of the European Research Council (ERC). On Friday, the ERC announced that grants with a total value of 429 million euros had been awarded to 291 young scientists.
