Over 3.5 thousand women will take part in the tech conference Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2019, which will launch on November 13 in Warsaw. The event will be attended by scientists from Harvard and Oxford, and cybersecurity will be one of the key topics.

The organizer is the Perspektywy Education Foundation. Participants of the meeting will discuss the future of technology, hone knowledge and skills, make contacts.

"We want Poland to become a centre of wise discussion about women and their incredible potential in the STEM area. To be a place where you can meet talents from Europe and Central Asia and admire their beautiful minds," emphasizes Dr. Bianka Siwińska, the summit initiator and director.

Sabrina Gonzalez Pasterski will be the special guest of the event. The 26 years old physicist from Harvard is considered one of the greatest minds of the young generation. Her speech will be an important point of the opening ceremony, which will take place on November 13 at 11 AM.

150 speakers from around the world are coming to Warsaw specially for the meeting: heads of major tech companies, scientists (including researchers from Harvard, Stanford and Oxford), activists, creators of public policies and start-ups.

Cybersecurity will be one of the key topics of the meeting. In the IT world, gender imbalance is still large (to the detriment of women), while in the key area of "cybersecurity" one can speak of a huge gap. That is why the Perspektywy Education Foundation decided to distinguish, recognise and promote women specializing in various areas of cybersecurity: technology, public policy, state security, and education. That is how the TOP-20 Women in Cybersecurity list was created. Women from this list will be honoured during the evening gala on the first day of the event.

The conference participants will also see the legendary Enigma - a German cipher machine, to the cracking of which Polish mathematicians contributed. There will be workshops and lectures on 5G, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, machine learning and Big Data. The summit participants will be able to meet the representatives of top 50 cybersecurity, IT and tech companies as well as the best Polish technical universities.

The conference is also intended to promote Poland as a place where you can get an excellent education in the field of IT. Thanks to funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the DIALOG programme, over 300 talented students and young professionals from Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Armenia will participate in the Warsaw meeting.

Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2019 will be held on November 13-14 at EXPO XXI in Warsaw. For more information, visit www.womenintechsummit.pl
