An interactive language learning robot, new energy efficient light sources and air purifying nanoparticles - these are some of the projects of young Polish innovators, awarded in the national edition of the competition "Innovators Under 35".

The competition is organised by the "MIT Technology Review" - the oldest technology journal, published by the renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

More than 100 young innovators have entered this year\'s national edition of the "Innovators Under 35" competition. 10 authors of the best projects were selected. Both the representatives of the scientific world and young entrepreneurs have been awarded.

Among the best is Marta Bojarska of the University of Duisburg, who has developed nanoparticles that purify air and water. Przemysław Data from the Silesian University of Technology is working on new energy-saving light sources that reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Paweł Góra from the University of Warsaw is an author of software that optimises car traffic. Another winner, Pawel Jarmołkowicz from Harimata has developed tests to help diagnose disorders such as autism. Jan Kędzierski of FLASH Robotics entered the competition with an interactive robot that will teach foreign languages to children. Oskar Kiwic of CardioCube was awarded for using artificial intelligence to assist patients with heart disease.

Architect Jerzy Latka from ARCHI-TEKTURA was awarded for creating cardboard shelters for people who lost their homes (for example refugees or victims of natural disasters). Rafał Lipiński from Hufsy is the author of a banking platform for small entrepreneurs based on blockchain and machine learning. Agata Skwarczyńska from Rzeszów University of Technology was awarded for the development of a structure that supports the regeneration of damaged tissue, which can be an alternative to grafts. The last of the winners is Wiktor Warchałowski of Airly, the creator of sensors that use artificial intelligence and machine learning to generate air quality forecasts.

The best inventors awarded in the national editions of the competition will compete in the European finals - "Innovators Under 35 Europe". 35 winning projects will be officially awarded during the final gala, which will take place on September 14 in Paris.

Authors of the winning projects will be invited to participate in the prestigious annual conference "EmTech France", organized by MIT Technology Review. The conference is an opportunity to showcase the latest trends and discoveries in the world of technology. Its next edition will take place on 10 - 11 October in Toulouse, France. It will be attended by the most important entrepreneurs and scientists from around the world. The 35 winners will also join the international Innovators Under 35 community of over 250 European innovators - winners of the previous editions, selected from among over 4,000 candidates.

The competition "Innovators Under 35" has been organized in the USA since 1999, and since 2011 talented innovators are also sought in other parts of the world, including Europe. European editions of the competition are held in Germany, France, Spain, Belgium and Poland.

Among the previous winners of the competition are Konstantin Novoselov (Nobel Laureate in Physics), Max Levchin (founder of PayPal), David Karp (founder of Tumblr), Sergey Brin (founder of Google) and Linus Torvalds (founder of Linux).
