Medals for Polish inventions at the innovation fair in Moscow

Three gold and two silver medals and special prizes were awarded to Polish scientists during the 20th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies "Archimedes 2017". Nearly 800 inventions from 18 countries were presented at the event.

The 20th Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies "ARCHIMEDES 2017" was held on 16-19 May. This year edition presented nearly 800 inventions from 18 countries. Participants included inventors from Japan, China, South Korea, Thailand, India, Taiwan, Egypt, Morocco, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland and Russia.

"Polish area presented seven innovative solutions. In the 42 thematic competition categories, the Polish innovations won three gold and two silver medals and special prizes" - reported said the Inventor Promotion Agency.

Gold medal was awarded to the team from the Institute of New Chemical Synthesis in Puławy and the Warsaw University of Technology for the "Method of obtaining cobalt catalysts promoted with cerium and barium for low temperature NH3 synthesis". The same award was given to the Industrial Automotive Institute PIMOT for the "Device for reducing particulate matter emissions from disc brake". The third gold medal was awarded to "Leo Twist roller for vacuum hose in the central vacuum cleaner system", developed and manufactured by Leovac from Tomaszów Mazowiecki.

Silver medal was awarded to " Supported catalyst for the abatement of nitrogen(I) oxide emissions especially from nitric acid plants and a method for its manufacture", developed at the Institute of New Chemical Synthesis in Puławy and the Jagiellonian University. The second silver medal went to the "Method and regulatory system of luminance distribution of the vehicle signal lights" developed at the Motor Transport Institute in Warsaw.

The polish area was organised under the auspices of the Main Council of Research Institutes and the Women Scientists Foundation, and the organizational partner was the Trade and Investment Promotion Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Moscow.
