More awards for the film produced by the planetarium Heavens of Copernicus

The film "Dream to Fly", produced and directed by the graphic design studio of the planetarium Heavens of Copernicus, about the history of aviation, won an award at the International Planetarium Movie Festival in Gwacheon, South Korea.

The International Planetarium Movie Festival (IPMF) in Gwacheon, South Korea was organized by the National Science Museum in Gwacheon. The festival jury awarded Golden Star to the Polish production. "This is the fifth award for the film, which has already won top honours at the most important fulldome film festivals in Europe, the US and Asia" - reported the Copernicus Science Centre on its website.

Earlier, the film won the Janus award at Fulldome Festival in the German city of Jena, one of the most important and prestigious events in the world planetarium industry. At the Imiloa Film Festival in Hawaii, the film was unrivalled in the category "Best Screenplay/Story".

"Dream to Fly" is the first film produced by the film studio of the Heavens of Copernicus planetarium in Warsaw\'s Copernicus Science Centre, and the first Polish production in fulldome technology. This technology enables the projection on the spherical planetarium screen that surrounds the audience on all sides. Nearly 40-minute animation consists of 63 thousand frames, each frame is twice as large as a cinema frame.

According to the authors, the film is an adventure with science and the history of aviation, it takes viewers in a flight in a balloon, blimp, airplane. As the dream of flying took man into space, viewers also visit a space station and fly a rocket. They learn about the history of aviation by watching the achievements of Leonardo da Vinci, the Montgolfier brothers, the Wright brothers and other pioneers of aviation.
