Polish-German-French master's in Opole in 2013

In the next academic year, the University of Opole will start the Polish-German-French Masters in European Integration, announced the university authorities after the meeting with the German project partner.

The meeting on the Europe Master, Polish-German-French Masters in European Integration, was attended by the delegation of the German Rhineland-Palatinate authorities and the authorities of the University of Opole.

 

Dr. Joanna Kulska of Opole University Institute of Political Science, Director of Europa Master, explained that students with a bachelor's degree who qualify for the program, after four semesters of study can obtain master’s degree from three universities: the University of Opole, Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Germany) and the University of Burgundy in Dijon (France).

 

Courses of the program will be conducted and managed jointly by the Institute of Political Science at the University of Opole, Institute of Political Sciences at Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Burgundy in Dijon.

 

Recruitment for study in the program will begin in the spring of 2013 in parallel at all three universities, and continue until 15 May. "We will inform of the exact dates on the Institute of Political Science website, in a tab dedicated of the program" - explained Kulska.

 

Students from all three countries will begin the first of four semesters next fall in Opole. "Lectures will cover subjects in the field of political science and the social and cultural dimension of European integration" - said the program director.

 

In the second semester, students will study at the University of Mainz, and in the third semester - in Dijon. The fourth semester will consist of practices and writing theses.

 

"Europa Master program students can choose the university at which they will write theses" - assured Kulska.

 

Program participants will be students 1st degree (BA) diploma in the social sciences, including political science, international relations, economics, sociology - or legal studies. In addition, students must know English at level B2 and French language at a minimum of B1. "In Opole, the course will be taught in English, in Mainz - in English and German, and in Dijon - in French" - noted Kulska.

 

Each school will select 5 to 10 students in its country. Maximum number of students of Europa Master is 30.

 

According to the Landtag of Rhineland Palatinate president, Joachim Mertes, who attended the meeting, in addition to the value of studying at three universities in three countries, this project is also a great opportunity for young people to study and live together, and get to better know and understand each other.

 

"Graduates of these studies will have great knowledge of European affairs. Especially that we hope to organize practices in the European institutions during the fourth semester of the program" - added Kulska.
