Super-fast and extremely powerful lasers manufactured by a Polish company are used for cutting diamonds, watching chemical reactions, and for eye correction surgery. These lasers use the solutions awarded this year`s Nobel Prize in physics.
An innovative imaging system using high temperature that will help interventional radiologists destroy liver tumours with very high precision has been developed by Evertop specialists and a team from the Silesian University of Technology. The first treatment with the use of the new technology was successfully carried out on August 2 in Warsaw.
Eleven gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal were awarded to Polish scientists and engineers during the 21st Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovation Technologies ARCHIMEDES 2018. Nearly 700 inventions from 28 countries were presented at the event.
"Chrząszcz" (Beetle) is an autonomous robot that can avoid obstacles and find its way to the destination. It was constructed by Wrocław University of Science and Technology students. At the end of April the robot will start in international competitions in Silicon Valley in the US.
