93 percent of Polish citizens believe that vaccination is the most effective way to protect children from serious diseases. 90 percent are convinced that vaccination of children causes more good than harm, and 86% believe that vaccines are safe, according to a CBOS (Public Opinion Research Center) survey.
Growing bacterial resistance to commonly used antibiotics causes more and more problems in the treatment of, for example, Helicobacter pylori infections that cause gastric and duodenal ulcers and stomach cancer. According to specialists, only symptomatic infections, confirmed with diagnostic methods, should be treated with antibiotics.
Researchers from the Medical University of Bialystok and the Bialystok University of Technology, who researched the application of fungi found in the Białowieża Forest in the treatment of cancer, filed a patent application concerning the use of Heterobasidion annosum in combating colorectal cancer.
